Police gear up for three big events from February 14 in Visakhapatnam, focus on security

Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi conducted a preparatory meeting in view of the three events – International Fleet Review (IFR), Milan, and IONS Conclave of Chiefs — scheduled to be held in the city from February 14 to 25, 2026, at Police Conference Hall on Saturday (January 17, 2026). Senior Navy officials, DCPs, ADCPs, ACPs, and the concerned Circle Inspectors attended the meeting.

During the meeting, a brief presentation was given outlining comprehensive details of the upcoming events. Detailed discussions were held on police bandobast, security arrangements, event venues, parking areas, no-drone zones, the movement of delegates from various countries, visits by dignitaries, key programmes, VIP movements, designated road routes for important guests, and other related aspects.

Addressing the meeting, Mr. Bagchi stressed on the need for coordinated and fool proof arrangements to ensure the successful conduct of all three prestigious events without any lapses. He issued instructions on the appointment of nodal officers, creating WhatsApp groups, appointment of coordinators, joint operations, traffic management, and also setting up of a joint command and control system.
