Former YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) MP Gorantla Madhav has said that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu should disclose the “secret pact” with his Telangana counterpart A. Revanth Reddy for sidelining the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Scheme (RLIS). Alleging that Mr. Naidu fled from Hyderabad to Vijayawada after his alleged role in the vote-for-note scam had been exposed, the YSRCP leader told the media in Vijayawada on Saturday that in order to be legally safe in that matter and due to some other vested interests, the Chief Minister compromised on the RLIS. Pointing to Mr. Revanth Reddy’s statement on the Floor of the Telangana Legislative Assembly that he had convinced Mr. Naidu to stop the project, Mr. Madhav said it was obligatory on the part of the Chief Minister to make public the understanding reached between the two leaders. The YSRCP leader also said that Mr. Naidu was against the RLIS as he did not want Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy to claim credit for it. On the issue of a Non-Bailable Warrant (NBW) by the Vijayawada POCSO Court for allegedly revealing the name of a rape victim, Mr. Madhav said it was a false case. He alleged that the coalition government was suppressing the voices of the YSRCP leaders by implicating them in false cases.
