Speaking to media persons, the family members of freedom fighter Immanuel Sekaran said that they thanked the CM and the government for building the mani mandapam. “It is a fitting tribute to the freedom fighter, who fought for the downtrodden till his end,” they added. The late freedom fighter, who fought for the Indian independence and against the British rule, later on struggled for the upliftment of the downtrodden and socially weaker sections in the society. The mani mandapam, built in his memory, was a symbol of sacrifice of a great leader for the poor and masses, they noted.
