Southern Railway will operate special trains between Madurai and Rameswaram in connection with Thai Amavasai. A statement said that Madurai-Rameswaram special will leave Madurai Junction at 11.5 p.m. on Saturday and arrive Rameswaram at 3 a.m. the next day. The Rameswaram – Madurai special will leave Rameswaram at 3 a.m. on Sunday and arrive Madurai Junction at 5.50 a.m.. The special trains will stop at Madurai East, Manamadurai, Paramakkudi and Ramanathapuram railway stations. Madurai – Rameswaram special will stop at Tiruppuvanam also.
