Six paying guest (PG) facilities were sealed by the Central City Corporation on Friday for allegedly failing to maintain basic hygiene standards. The corporation has imposed fines amounting to ₹1.96 lakh on these facilities.

The inspections were led by Health Officer Shivakumar along with medical officers from Chickpet and Shivajinagar. As part of the drive, officials inspected 204 facilities located in Shivajinagar and Chickpet Assembly constituencies. The inspections focused on the availability of basic facilities, including safe drinking water, overall cleanliness, kitchen hygiene, proper toilet facilities, fire safety arrangements, installation of CCTV cameras, and compliance with food safety norms, including possession of FSSAI certification.

Officials said six facilities that failed to meet hygiene and safety standards were sealed, while several others were fined for deficiencies. Awareness notices were also issued to all operators, directing them to rectify identified violations within seven days and ensure compliance with prescribed norms.
