I think the third game was much more of a pressure situation with both trying to keep the attack and it was important for me to finish off early,” he added. Asked about the conditions, Lakshya admitted he was not prepared for the extreme drift. “I think I was not prepared for the wind today, it was a lot more than yesterday and it took me some time to realise. I was a bit shaky from the net to lift the shuttle and made too many errors at the net. But I could figure it out in the third and not give so many easy points,” he explained. He also agreed that the court played a role. “It was a bit faster and I had to control better. From where I started, I could play freely with the lifts and I think he was doing the same. I tried being more patient from the back because he was getting a very good length and it is hard to score winners from that deep off the court but he managed to win,” he added.
