Southern Railway is operating a special train between Kottayam and Bengaluru Cantonment for one trip in each direction to avoid the rush of passengers during the Pongal festival, a release said. Train No. 06147 Kottayam-Bengaluru Cantonment Express Special will leave from Kottayam at 12.30 p.m. on January 18 and will reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 3.30 a.m. on Monday. On the return trip, train No. 06148 Bengaluru Cantonment- Kotayam Express Special will leave from Bengaluru Cantonment at 10.20 p.m. on January 19 and will reach Kottayam at 10.50 a.m. on Tuesday. The train will have stoppages at Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Palakkad, Podanur, Tiruppur, Erode, Salem, Kuppam, Bangarapet, and Krishnarajapuram stations in both of the directions.
