The Mahayuti is set to gain power in 25 out of 29 municipal corporations, including Mumbai, Mr. Fadnavis said at a celebration rally in Mumbai. Trends show a stellar performance by the BJP in several cities, including Pune, Pimpri Chinchwad, Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Nagpur, while it is all set to end the Thackeray stranglehold on the Brhanmumbai Municipal Corporation in alliance with the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena. “We have received a massive mandate. I want to tell party workers, we have to realise a sense of responsibility. For those who have been voted to power, people have chosen you for your honesty. The trust towards Modiji and BJP has to be maintained. They should behave without any arrogance,” Mr. Fadnavis said. The Mahayuti has broken all records in the civic polls, he said, adding that Mumbai will get a Mayor from the Mahayuti. “Politics of Vikas and vishwas [development and trust] is what Modi ji started, and we are continuing on it. We will develop each city. This is a massive victory,” the Chief Minister added.
