The Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation (TNCSC) has arranged for swift procurement of samba paddy brought to the direct purchase centres (DPC) this procurement season. According to an official release, farmers in Tiruvarur district have been requested to provide the following details such as their name, Aadhaar number, survey number, DPC name, bank account number, mobile number, procurement date, and other details to the DPC writer. Subsequently, an SMS would be forwarded to farmers’ mobile number indicating the date and time of procurement and based on the message they could bring their paddy to the DPC on the scheduled date and time. In case of farmers residing in a village other than the hamlet in which they have their agriculture field, they can upload the details through the DPC located near their place of residence. Stating that 298 DPCs exist as on date in Tiruvarur district, the release said additional DPCs would be opened depending on the demand. Further, in case of any deficiency or problem in measuring of paddy, farmers can contact senior zonal manager, Tiruvarur (04366 22542) or Deputy Manager, Tiruvarur (91503 14275) or Deputy Manager, Mannargudi (88380 26073), the release added.
