The Forest Range Officer reported the death, and a postmortem was carried out on Thursday (January 15), in accordance with the National Tiger Conservation Authority Standard Operating Procedures. According to a Forest department official, the leopard had all its body parts – skin, canines, and claws – intact. During the postmortem, an injury was observed, along with blood clots and a fracture in the neck bone on the left side.
