The Kozhikode district committee of the United Democratic Front (UDF) will stage a protest at the Pantheerankavu toll plaza on the Vengalam-Ramanattukara stretch of the NH-66 on Thursday morning, when the toll collection is scheduled to start. K. Praveenkumar, District Congress Committee president, and M.A. Razaq, district president of the Indian Union Muslim League, said on Wednesday that they would not allow the toll to be collected until the work on the service roads was completed. They also demanded that the residents of Vengalam and Azhiyur be exempted from paying the toll.
