Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for kind wishes and words of motivation on his induction into Kenjutsu, the globally renowned Japanese school of swordsmanship, through a social media post on Wednesday, Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan said that, on his part, Mr. Modi had been inspiring the citizens, especially youth, through his leadership and through initiatives like ‘Pariksha pe Charcha’, ‘Khelo India’, and Fit India.

The Prime Minister was guiding youngsters to become healthier, stronger and more confident, thereby shaping the future of Bharat, he said.

Martial arts for him, Mr. Pawan Kalyan said, had always been about discipline, balance and the harmony of mind, body and soul, and that Mr. Modi’s words infused a new sense of responsibility to his journey.

“I will strive even harder to serve our Bharat and inspire the younger generation to live with discipline, honour our heritage, and work fearlessly for the nation. Thank you for your constant warmth and inspiration,” Mr. Pawan Kalyan asserted.

In a letter on January 13, Mr. Modi observed that Mr. Kalyan had consistently pursued martial arts with remarkable discipline and sincerity, be it during his hectic film career or in his public life, and that his decades-long commitment to the practice (of martial arts) was truly admirable.

“It sends a strong message to youth that no matter how demanding one’s professional responsibilities may be, it is always possible to make time for self-improvement and lifelong learning,” the PM stated.
