Spiritual organisation Sri Sakthi Peetam at Rayala Cheruvu gained a place in the Guinness Book of Records for for bringing together the largest congregation of married women at the ‘Dasa Sahasra Suvasini Puja’ in Tirupati recently.

A whopping 10,000 married women gathered at the Sri Venkateswara University Tarakarama Stadium and lit oil wick lamps on January 6.

The event was conducted by Sri Sakhti Peetam pontiff Ramyananda Bharathi Swamini with the blessings of senior pontiff Siddheswarananda Bharathi in the midst of Vedic chanting, while the women simultaneously lit the traditional lamps.

The certificate acknowledged the record for the ‘Largest Suvasini Puja’ (ritual worship of married women) conducted in a single venue, taking the scale, coordination and spiritual significance into account. The certificate was formally handed over to the pontiff by the Guinness representatives in Tirupati.
