Sholavandan police have arrested a youth A. Sankaranarayanan (24) for harassing a woman medical officer Dr. Lalanthi (38) of Government hospital in Sholavandan. The police said that the accused had inflicted cut injuries on himself with a blade under the influence of alcohol and got admitted to the hospital on January 9. He threatened the doctor to provide him treatment. The accused was referred to the Government Rajaji hospital (GRH), however, he fled from the GRH and returned to the Sholavandan GH and again harassed the doctor on Monday. Based on a complaint from the doctor, the Sholavandan police arrested him for using abusive language, preventing Government official from discharging her duty. He was sent to judicial custody.
