What is the latest order on illegal buildings in Bengaluru?

The Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) Chief Commissioner M. Maheshwar Rao directed officials under the West Corporation to intensify action against unauthorized buildings, directing that notices must be issued, clearance operations conducted, and strict enforcement followed.  

On January 13, Mr. Rao instructed officials to issue demolition orders in accordance with the rules, but only after giving proper notice to property owners. He emphasized that inspections must be carried out, particularly in cases where additional floors have been constructed without approval, and that necessary teams comprising officers and marshals should be formed to execute clearance operations efficiently. He highlighted the importance of sealing buildings that have been constructed without approved plans, and stopping work at the earliest stage of violation, alongside taking disciplinary action against officials who fail to act.
