Tirunelveli students win medals in State-level boxing tournament

Two students of St. Ignatius Convent Higher Secondary School, Palayamkottai have won gold and bronze medals in the State-level Republic Day Boxing Tournament for School Students organised by the Department of School Education at Theni recently.

While K. Muthu Selvi won the gold medal in the Under – 19 (64 to 66 Kg) category, Sharmi Kasthuri bagged bronze medal in the Under – 19 (54 to 57 kg) category.

Headmistress of the school Rev. Sr. Vasanthi Brinda felicitated students Muthu Selvi and Sharmi Kasthuri, whose classrooms have been named after them for this feat for this academic year.

Chief Educational Officer M. Sivakumar felicitated student D. Gideon of Government Higher Secondary School, Reddiyarpatti, who won bronze medal in the 81 – 91 kg category
