Civil supplies Minister G.R. Anil inaugurates the State-level sale of Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation products through K-Store in Kollam on Tuesday.

In a bid to bolster the market potential of the cashew sector, products from the Kerala State Cashew Development Corporation (KSCDC) will now be available through the network of K-Stores across the State. The State-level inauguration of this new project was performed by the Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, G.R. Anil, at the Puthennada K-Store in Kollam on Tuesday.

“K-Stores will be extended further into rural areas to ensure better accessibility for the public. All ration shops equipped with the necessary infrastructure will eventually be upgraded as K-Stores. To enhance the utility of these centres, an agreement has been reached with 19 banks to provide essential banking services directly through these outlets,” said the Minister.

Mr. Anil added that subsidised products have been reaching a larger segment of the population and sales worth ₹300 crore was recorded through these centres during the recent festive season. The event was presided over by M. Naushad MLA, while Kollam Mayor A.K. Hafeez officiated the first sale of the products and N.K. Premachandran, MP was the chief guest. District panchayat president R. Lathadevi, KSCDC chairperson S. Jayamohan, controller of rationing C.V. Mohanakumar, taluk supply officer Y. Saramma and Thekkevila division councilor Deepika Pramoj were also present.
