Deputy Commissioner Shreerupa has said that financial facilities will be made available to youngsters who come forward to start enterprises, and urged the youth of the district to make the best use of these opportunities. She was speaking at a Business Excellence Workshop organised for district entrepreneurs by the Confederation of Indian Industry-Centre of Excellence on Employment and Livelihoods (CII–CEL) in collaboration with the district administration at Chamarajanagar on January 12. The Deputy Commissioner said that financial institutions will provide loan facilities for taking up micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Youngsters should utilise these facilities and show interest in establishing enterprises, which will also contribute to the development of the district, she added. She said workshops are being organised for aspiring entrepreneurs, and participation in such programmes would help them gain proper guidance. Large-scale participation by entrepreneurs will encourage future business ventures, she said, adding that various institutions will extend support to entrepreneurial aspirants. Inviting the Volvo Group to explore investment opportunities that could help generate employment in the district, she said the programme is being implemented through CII–CEL with support from the Volvo Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding. Speaking on the occasion, G.V. Rao, CSR director of the Volvo Group, said that through CII–CEL and CSR initiatives, the company is supporting micro-enterprises across the country. He said entrepreneurs should view learning as a strategic investment and assured that the Volvo Group will support the growth of micro-enterprises in Chamarajanagar district. Nagaraj Gargeshwari, president and director of Automotive Axles Limited, and Dorai Raj, deputy director of the Department of Industries and Commerce, also spoke. Additional Deputy Commissioner T. Javare Gowda, CII–CEL team members P. Hariharan and Sayani Chatterjee, and CSR district coordinator Rakshita Nayak were present.
