The Railway Protection Force, Thanjavur, conducted awareness programmes at Government schools under their jurisdiction to sensitise students on safe transportation by rails. According to an official release, the RPF teams enlightened the students studying in Government schools at Budalur, Poondi and Saliyamangalam about the dangers and legal consequences of stone-pelting on running trains, placing stones on the railway track, and trespassing across railway lines. The students were also advised to strictly avoid such unsafe practices and to act responsibly in the interest of their own safety as well as the safety of railway passengers and property, the release added.
