The Department of School Education on Monday nominated four students pursuing education in State schools to the annual ‘Japan Science High School Programme’ also known as the ‘Sakura Science’. The programme, implemented by Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST), invites outstanding high school students for a week and gives them an opportunity to witness and learn about advanced scientific technology and interact with the top scientists. This year, the programme is scheduled to take place from May 24 to 30. According to the department, the students were first selected at the district level and then screened at the State level. The nominated students are G. Shivanjali (Inter first year at Telangana Model School & Junior College, Sadhashivnagar), Ch. Akshaya (Inter first year at Telangana Residential Junior College, Hasanparthy), B. Parusha (Inter first year at IIIT Mahabubnagar) and B. Venu (Inter first year at Telangana Model School, Irkode).
