‘Spirit of Mylapore Award 2026’ presented to Sri Vidhya Nilayam

Sundaram Finance Limited presented the ‘Spirit of Mylapore Award 2026’ to Sri Vidhya Nilayam, to recognise their efforts to sustain and keep the culture of the neighbourhood alive for several years.

Moahan Venkatesan, senior vice president and head of operations and Sudheer Warrier, chief technology officer, Sundaram Finance Limited, gave the award to the proprietor of Sri Vidhya Nilayam, S Vijayakumari and her sons during the conclusion of the Sundaram Finance Mylapore Festival 2026, according to a press release.

‘The Spirit of Mylapore Award 2026’ instituted in 2009 by Sundaram Finance to felicitate Mylapore’s long-standing residents and institutions who have made significant contributions to the heritage and culture of this iconic neighborhood, according to a press release.

“Founded in 1954, Sri Vidhya Nilayam, is a store that has been selling authentic and good quality puja products including Kumkum, vibhooti, sandal powder and turmeric among other things. The store is located on North Mada Street and they have customers from across the world,” the release said.
