A 50-year-old Special Sub Inspector (SSI) attached to the airport police station (law and order) was killed in a road accident near the Sanjeevi Nagar junction along the Tiruchi-Chennai bypass on Sunday. The police gave the name of the SSI as Adhiraj. He was riding a two-wheeler when a container lorry hit the vehicle. The SSI, who fell down from his vehicle, died of injuries while undergoing treatment in a private hospital here. The Traffic North Investigation unit has registered a case, police sources said.
