Samastha Kerala Jamiyyathul Ulama vice president U.M. Abdurahman Musliar, 86, died at a hospital at Kasaragod on Monday morning. He was suffering from age-related ailments. His funeral took place at Mogral Juma Masjid graveyard on Monday evening. He is survived by his wife Zakiyya and seven children. A member of the Samastha Mushawara since 1992 and the Samastha Kerala Islam Matha Vidyabhyasa Board since 1991, Abdurahman Musliar also served as the Kasaragod district general secretary of Samastha, the largest organisation of traditional Islamic scholars in Kerala. He was the general secretary of Malabar Islamic Complex, Chattanchal, Kasaragod. In his condolence message, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan described Abdurahman Musliar as an Islamic scholar of high repute.
