Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on Monday said the creation of four Guinness World Records by the National Highways Authority of India(NHAI) during the development of the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada economic corridor was a matter of immense pride for the State. He said the achievement would not have been possible without the close monitoring and cooperation of Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari.

Participating in a meeting organised at Puttaparthi in Sri Sathya Sai district to celebrate the feat, Mr. Chandrababu Naidu said Mr. Gadkari was known for his speed and efficiency and that both the NHAI and the concessionaire, Raj Path Infracon, had done a commendable job in executing the project.

He said the State government was keen on laying a direct road from Amaravati to Bengaluru and requested that the corridor be named the Amaravati–Bengaluru Road.

Mr. Gadkari said the NHAI and Raj Path Infracon were able to set new records with the blessings of Bhagwan Sathya Sai and congratulated all those involved in the project. He said constant efforts were being made to expand the national highway network without compromising on quality and noted that the Bengaluru–Kadapa–Vijayawada corridor was part of the Central government’s efforts to bring logistics costs down to below 9%.
