The city police arrested 76 individuals reported to be involved in 45 property offences during the month of January 2026. The police teams have also recovered ₹39 lakh worth stolen property from the offenders. Addressing a press conference at the police conference hall here on Friday (February 27), Commissioner of Police Shankabratha Bagchi said that during January-2026, a total of 69 property offences were reported in the city, under various heads of property offences. Special teams were formed and the teams have used technical methods, investigated the cases from all angles, detected 45 cases of the total, the CP said. Property worth ₹39,79,845 was recovered. He also said that apart from the above property, as many as 420 missing mobiles worth around ₹63 lakh were also recovered. With this, the total property recovered is about ₹1.02 crore, he said.
