The Special Court for POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act Cases here has awarded life imprisonment to a 65-year-old man for sexually assaulting a boy. According to prosecution, Namasivayam of Ambasamudram sexually assaulted a 6-year-old boy in 2023, and Ambasamudram All Women Police arrested him under the POCSO Act. Judicial Magistrate of the Special Court Suresh Kumar awarded life imprisonment to Namasivayam on Friday and slapped him with a fine of ₹3,000. He also directed the State Government to give a compensation of ₹3 lakh to the family of the victim.
