Over 6.76 lakh metric tonnes of paddy yield is expected in Kakinada district during the Rabi season of 2026. Nearly six lakh metric tonnes of paddy is likely to be procured by the Civil Supplies Department, while the remaining quantity will be retained by farmers for their consumption. At a preparatory meeting on paddy procurement, Joint Collector Apoorva Bharat said that ₹2,389 per quintal will be offered as the Minimum Support Price for fine quality paddy and ₹2,369 per quintal for Grade A quality. All stakeholders were asked to prepare for paddy procurement and arrange gunny bags.
