Popular Chennai-based dancer, Srinidhi Chidambaram, is entering her 50th year in Bharatanatyam. “It’s a time for nostalgia and gratitude,” she says, looking back at her journey so far, “I started training when I was just four. It has been a great journey with the arts.” This Margazhi season, Srinidhi presented two thematic margam presentation to packed audiences in leading sabhas. In an interview with ‘The Hindu’ for the ‘This Changed My Life’ video podcast, this dancer, who is also a medical professional, talks about adapting to the needs of modern audiences. She also talks about receiving Tamil film offers – Srinidhi was one of the choices to play the female lead in director Mani Ratnam’s 1991 classic Thalapathi starring Rajinikanth – and why she declined them.
