Fifty Nand Ghars, Vedanta’s flagship social impact initiative under Anil Agarwal Foundation, were inaugurated on Tuesday in the presence of Visakhapatnam Collector M. N. Harendhira Prasad and Vedanta Group’s Vizag General Cargo Berth CEO Gopal Mandelia. These centres are expected to positively impact over 2,000 children and 1,500 women, through integrated services across child health and nutrition, early learning and women empowerment, said Mr. Gopal. Nand Ghar redefines India’s anganwadi ecosystem by transforming rural anganwadi centres into modern, aspirational, technology-enabled community hubs. The 50 Nand Ghars in Visakhapatnam are equipped with child-friendly infrastructure, digital early learning tools, fortified nutrition support, and dedicated spaces for women-led skilling and activities, enabling integrated delivery of early education, healthcare awareness, and livelihood opportunities, said Shashi Arora, CEO, Nand Ghars. “With a pan-India network of almost 11,000 Nand Ghars, the initiative has already touched the lives of over 4 lakh children and 3 lakh women,” he added.
