A total of 48 persons were injured during the jallikattu organised at Theerampatti near Manapparai in Tiruchi and at Kattupatti in Pudukottai district on Saturday. At Theerampatti, 783 bulls were released with 277 men participating. A total of 32 persons were injured and 13 of them, six participants, four owners, and three spectators, were referred to the government hospital. The remaining were treated as outpatients at the venue. A total of 602 bulls were released during the event at Kattupatti in Pudukottai with 300 men trying to catch them. Sixteen persons, 11 spectators, three bull owners, and two participants were injured. All of them were treated as outpatients at the venue, according to police sources.
