Four persons, including a lawyer, were killed when the car they were travelling in fell into a roadside well at Alampoondi near Gingee on Tuesday. The police identified the deceased as S. Vinoth, 38, a lawyer, and his friends K. Sekar, 27, M. Raja, 45, and A. Jayamurugan, 42, all from Chennai. The police said the group was returning to Chennai after visiting Tiruvananmalai for girivalam. When they reached Alampoondi, Raja, who was at the wheel, lost control of the car. The vehicle veered off the road and fell into a roadside well. Upon receiving information, the police and Tamil Nadu Fire and Rescue Services Personnel retrieved the bodies and sent them for post-mortem. A case has been registered.
