As many as 39,349 students will appear for the SSLC examination, which will begin in Mysuru district on Wednesday.

All necessary arrangements have been made at 136 examination centres, including 43 centres in Mysuru city alone.

Taluk-wise, there are 15 centres in Hunsur, 11 in K.R. Nagar, 19 in Nanjangud, and 13 each in Periyapatna, T. Narasipur, and H.D. Kote. The remaining centres are located in rural parts of Mysuru taluk.

The examination will conclude on April 2 and will be held from 10 a.m. to 1.15 p.m.

All examination centres are equipped with CCTV surveillance, and webcasting arrangements have also been made. Prohibitory orders have been imposed around examination centres to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the exams.

Similar arrangements are in place in Mandya, Kodagu, and Chamarajanagar districts.

In Kodagu, 6,183 students will appear for the examination, including 3,049 boys and 3,134 girls.

In Chamarajanagar, 12,128 students- comprising 6,170 boys and 5,958 girls- have registered for the examination at 47 centres across the district. As many as 99 differently-abled students will also be writing the exam.

The district administration has directed the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) to provide free bus travel for students appearing for the examination, enabling them to commute to their respective centres without charge.

The use of mobile phones in examination centres has been prohibited. A medical team will be present at each centre to assist students in case of any health issues.

A helpline launched to guide students has received a good response, with even students from other districts calling to seek clarifications and clear doubts.

Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Mona Roth said special arrangements have been made for students from tribal areas to enable them to write the examination without difficulty.
