Nearly 286 papers were presented at the third Research and Development show at the Vishnu Institute of Technology (VIT-Bhimavaram) in West Godavari district on Monday. Addressing the gathering, Prof. Shuichi Torii, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kurume Institute of Technology, Japan, said that in a competitive world, research and innovation are very important.

VIT principal M. Venu informed that during the campus recruitment drives in the present academic year, more than 1,000 students have received opportunities. Mr. Venu said that the R&D cell is playing a critical role in the development of the college and advised students and faculty to utilise the services of the cell.

A. Raju, Vishnu Educational Development and Innovation Center Dean, said that the R&D cell encourages students to present projects, which are reviewed by experts from various States and reputed institutions. The R&D cell is an open platform that encourages new ideas, innovations and research on the campus.
