25 government schoolgirls fall ill after eating hostel food in Namakkal

As many as 25 students of Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Namakkal, who are inmates of hostel, fell ill after eating the food provided in the hostel on Monday (March 30, 2026) evening.

A total of 56 female students study in classes VI to IX and stay in the government hostel on Namakkal-Mohanur Road. On Monday afternoon, 30 students who ate lunch in the hostel, returned to school for classes. Later, the students started to fall ill. The school teachers admitted the students at Namakkal Government Hospital. Five students were discharged after treatment and 25 students were getting treatment.
