Telangana Food Safety Department’s Flying Squad seized 210 kg of cashew valued at ₹1.5 lakh from a repacking agency in Hyderabad’s Mallapur area on March 28 | Photo Credit: Special Arrangement Around 210 kgs of cashew valued at ₹1.5 lakh was seized from a repacking agency in Hyderabad’s Mallapur area on Saturday (March 28), after the Telangana Food Safety Department’s Flying Squad found the stock to be of doubtful quality, with a portion of it infested with insects. During the inspection, officials identified 36 kgs of cashew infested with insects, which was immediately discarded. The remaining 210 kg was seized on suspicion of compromised quality, and samples have been sent for laboratory analysis to determine their safety for consumption.
