According to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre’s (KSNDMC) district-wise pre-monsoon pattern-2026, during this period Bidar, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Belagavi, Bagalkot, Dharwad, Gadag, Koppal, Uttara Kannada, Haveri, Vijayanagara, Ballari, Udupi, Dakshina Kannada, Chikkamagaluru, Shivamogga, Davangere, Chitradurga, Tumakuru, Chickballapur, and Bengaluru Rural districts received large excess rainfall. Four districts — Hassan, Bengaluru South, Bengaluru Urban, and Kolar — received excess rainfall. Kodagu, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamarajanagar and Raichur districts received normal rainfall. Only one district Yadgir received deficient rainfall during this period. The KSNDMC’s taluk-wise data states that 133 taluks received large excess rainfall, 43 taluks received excess rainfall, 33 taluks received normal rainfall and 21 taluks received deficient rainfall in this period. Rainfall is considered normal when it varies between +19% and -19%, deficient when it varies between -20% and -59%, large deficient when it is -60% or less, excess when it varies between +20% and +59% and large excess when it is +60% and above. Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department for the next three days has forecast light to moderate rain/thundershowers with gusty winds at one or two places over the districts in coastal Karnataka. In north-interior and south-interior Karnataka it has forecast that light to moderate rain and thundershowers with gusty wind are likely to occur. For Bengaluru city and the neighbourhood, the Met Department has forecast partly cloudy sky, with rain and thundershowers likely towards evening and night. The maximum and minimum temperature is likely to be around 32°C and 22°C respectively.
