A total of 200 mobile phones valued at around Rs 39 lakh, which were either lost or stolen, were recovered in the past 40 days and returned to their rightful owners in Adilabad on Thursday. The recovered phones were handed over to respective owners by Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan at a programme in the district police headquarters of Adilabad on Thursday. Additional SP (Administration) P. Mounika, Adilabad DSP L. Jeevan Reddy and others were present. So far, around 1,500 lost or stolen mobile phones were recovered using the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal and subsequently handed over to their owners in Adilabad district.
