Manjunath As many as 18 films in Kannada, Tulu, Konkani and Beary will be screened during the Karavali Film Festival to be held at Bharat Cinemas in Mangaluru from January 19 to 21. The film festival is part of the Karavali Utsava 2025. Talking to reporters on January 14, Deputy Commissioner H.V. Darshan said the film festival aims at promoting native films, screening six films daily with free entry on a first-come, first-served basis. An online booking system will soon be available. Among the 18 films, 11 will be in Tulu to support the Tulu language. The first film to be screened will be Tulu film Yesa at 10 a.m., followed by another Tulu film Chandikori at 1.30 p.m. The Konkani film Fondacho Misther will be screened at 4.15 p.m., Tulu film Oriyardori Asal at 7 p.m., Kannada film Su from So at 7.30 p.m. and Tulu film Raj Sounds and Lights at 10.15 p.m. On the second day, screenings will begin with Tulu film Pidayi, followed by Tulu films Pilibail Yamunakka, Meera and Girgit, Kannada film Sarakari Hirya Prathamika Shaale Kasaragodu and another Tulu film Koramma. On January 21, screenings will begin with Beary film Byari, followed by Tulu film Dabak Daba Aisa, Konkani film Ujjwadu, Tulu film Daskath, Kannada film Garuda Gamana Vrishabha Vahana and Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandanthe. The film festival will be inaugurated at 9.30 a.m. on January 19, Mr. Darshan said. Narwade Vinayak Karbhari, Zilla Panchayat CEO, K. Raju, Addtional DC, G.
