Seventeen cases were registered in Sivaganga district regarding election model code violations. With the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections scheduled to be held on April 23, the Model Code of Conduct has come into force in the State. Following this, the police have been registering cases for violations such as placing banners in streets, pasting wall posters, and traveling in vehicles with party flags. Accordingly, 17 cases have been registered across the district against members of the DMK, AIADMK, TVK, and Naam Tamilar parties. This includes two cases each in Singampunari and Madagupatti areas, six cases in the Sivaganga area, three cases in the Devakottai area, and one case each in the areas of S.V. Mangalam, Velayuthapattinam, Kalaiyarkovil, and Nerkuppai.
