Fourteen persons, including four women, suffered dog bite at Vickramasingapuram in the district on Thursday. After a stray dog went on a biting spree along the streets of Vickramasingapuram, 14 persons were bitten and rushed to Ambasamudram Government Hospital. While four of them received first-aid, others were admitted to the hospital with bleeding injuries. The residents said the dog menace in Ambasamudram and Vickramasingapuram had crossed all tolerable limits as the municipalities refused to take any action against stray dogs even after repeated complaints, particularly from the victims.
