After 19 candidates withdrew their nominations from the seven Assembly constituencies in Virudhunagar district till Thursday, a total of 135 candidates are in the fray in the district. While 189 candidates had filed their nominations, the papers of 35 candidates were rejected leaving 154 candidates eligible to contest the April 23 Assembly election.
