Around 10,000 dogs have been vaccinated so far under the ‘Rabies-Free Thanjavur District’ initiative, an anti-rabies vaccination drive being carried out across the district. The programme is jointly implemented by the Tamil Nadu Department of Animal Husbandry, the Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), Thanjavur, and Mission Rabies, Goa.
