₹30.31 lakh seized from bus passenger at Aviyur

Static Surveillance Team of Tiruchuli Assembly constituency seized ₹30.31 lakh from a passenger travelling in a private bus near Aviyur on Monday.

According to an official, based on a specific information, the SST intercepted the bus proceeding on Madurai Road.

The officials found that the cash was kept in two bags by the passenger.

The passenger was taken to the Tiruchuli Taluk office and the cash was handed over to the Tiruchuli Assembly Constituency Returning Officer M. Shanthi.

The man claimed that the money was the proceeds of the sale of a land. He had promised to produce the documents of having sold his land. The cash was handed over to the Income Tax Department.
